Susanna – we’re glad to hear that iota was a good catch for you. And we’re glad you shared your IHOP story with us. That’s fun to hear.

My friend and I had just finished eating at IHOP and decided to visit while she had more coffee. Between the 2 of us I think we figured out how to play but we skipped figuring out the scoring and just played to use up the cards. She’s really good at these visual games- she caught onto Ravensburger’s Labyrinth and helped both me and her 5 yr old see the moves we needed to make) we would look for the best move then ask each other where we should play – can tell we weren’t too competitive. She said she liked it – I know I enjoyed it but it wasn’t a superquick game for us – the waitress and a couple of customers even stopped to see what we were playing. The size is great – we took up the entire width of the IHOP booth table and a good part of the length as well! fun game and very portable – thanks for reviewing it and for the Gamewright rec you gave me in an earlier email – I’ve stocked up on some to play with little dude – once we get him to where he can handle having his ducks ‘stolen’ I can’t wait to play Duck Duck Bruce with him! 🙂

Susanna – thanks for the great story. It’s fun to hear about introducing new players to games.

I was reading your post line by line thinking Set uh oh I don’t like the time pressure then saw this one doesn’t have that – sorta sounds like Rummikub but with shapes instead of numbers…love that game! and so happy I finally got to play Dominion 2x – not enough but better than nothing. I got in on the last round with one gamegroup then took a cue from your boys and snagged a 9-10 yr old who was at gameday with his dad – and bonus I asked him mom if she wanted to play and she said she didnt’ know how but I said it was only my 2nd game and the 2 of us talked her through it and why we did the moves we did and she had fun I think. I know I enjoyed playing with them both. of course the kid beat us both but he’s a shark! a fun shark though…:-)
