Weber Shandwick has promoted Angela Mears to Global Executive Creative Director. The role is newly created; Mears reports to Global Chief Creative Officer Tom Beckman. According to a statement from Weber Shandwick, Mears will work closely with client, strategic and creative leaders to “build borderless teams and new ways of working.” She will lead client work for Airbnb, McDonald’s and IKEA parent Ingka. Mills spent 11 years at the agency, most recently as executive creative director for the US West region, leading creative operations in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. She will be succeeded by creative directors Juliet Fox and Louisa Hager, who will co-lead creative efforts in three West Coast cities.

According to PRWeek’s 2022 agency business report, Weber Shandwick reported a 4.9% increase in global revenue to $872 million in 2021, and a 5% increase in U.S. revenue to $520 million. Juliet Fox and Louisa Hager, who will co-lead creative efforts in three West Coast cities, will succeed her as creative director.
