RIP to Ashley Morrison AKA Instagram’s Youngest Old Cat Lady. She saved so many cats and helped so many people trying their best to do the same.
He was born in Salisbury, Wiltshire, and grew up in Purton, near Swindon. He was educated at Stowe School in Buckinghamshire and played cricket for Wiltshire. After moving to Australia, Morrison worked for Impact Publications and later as Cargo Manager for South African Airways Australia and New Zealand. Morrison has appeared on Perth radio since 1991, first covering the National Football League’s Perth Glory game on 6NR and then on 6PR where he also covered rugby. With the start of the modern A-League in 2004, he moved to 6RPH, which carried the A-League and Western Force’s inaugural Super Rugby season.
In September 2006, with co-host Darren Harper, he started Not The Footy Show, a two-hour radio show focusing on all sports except the AFL. It later became a regular podcast with co-host John Lee.
Morrison was part of Fox Sports’ Australian A-League coverage from 2006 to 2011. He has written sports commentary for organizations such as BT Sport, Star Sports, Astro Arena, Neo Sports and FIH. In ice hockey, his coverage includes the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, Asian Cup, Asian Youth Cup, Ice Hockey World League, 2017 Australian Hockey League Finals and three Indian Hockey Leagues. He has also commented on various sporting events such as the 2018 Asian Games, Southeast Asian Games and Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, as well as football associations for One World Sports and World Sports Group. Other sports Morrison has reviewed include badminton, boxing, floorball, futsal, gymnastics, water polo, kabaddi and rugby.
