Chad is the founder and president of True North Media, a new nonprofit media collective that brings together mission-based organizations, strategists and influencers to use popular entertainment and storytelling to promote long-term social change. True North builds on Boettcher’s more than 15 years of experience building and leading award-winning teams that develop media partnerships, corporate social responsibility strategies and social impact initiatives for media companies and foundations.
His work for major media organizations and philanthropists, including Univision, The Onion, Participant Media, MTV, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, California Endowment, Open Society Foundations, has appeared in leading national and international news outlets and has won numerous awards. Ten awards. Including multiple Emmys in nonprofit and public service. Boettcher also taught marketing innovation at New York University and worked on the presidential campaigns of Al Gore (2000) and Barack Obama (2008). He is a former board member of GLAAD, a current board member of the Marguerite Casey Foundation, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree. in Political Science, Spanish and Botany from the University of Miami.
