Arlington Heights – Daniel Thomas Nix, 23, was born on March 15, 2000 in Park Ridge, IL to parents Brian Nix and Christy (née Thompson) Nix. He died on Friday, March 17, 2023 while vacationing in Mexico. Daniel just finished his senior year at Marquette University and plans to graduate this May with a degree in Finance.
He graduated from St. Viator High School in 2018. He considered Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He loves the “happy place” where he spends as much time as possible on the water. Danny works as a boatman and marina at Gage Marina. Boating and wake surfing are popular pastimes. He also likes music and cars. Danny is the quintessential “party lifer” who values quality time with family and friends. He is often found singing and dancing here.
Those close to him will remember Danny as a lovable, big-hearted man who loved adventure, excitement and all. Daniel is survived by his parents, Christy and Brian Nicks. His siblings Megan (Ricky) Minkey, Mary-Kate, Tommy, and Kyle Nix; his grandparents Nancy (with Bill) Robbie, Tom Nix, and Daniel (Jean) Thompson; Danielle Doty and their children Taylor and Kendall; and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded by his brother, Johnny Babe, and grandmother, Margaret “Peggy” Nicks. Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N.
