The OnlyFans model accused of murdering her boyfriend in Miami is being sued by his family from North Texas, according to a lawsuit. Courtney Clenney, who goes by the name Courtney Tailor on Instagram and OnlyFans, was arrested in Hawaii in August and charged with the April 3, 2022, murder of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, 27. Kerenney’s lawyer said she was defending herself when the 26-year-old stabbed Obumseli.
Obumseli’s family is now suing Clenney for wrongful death, alleging in a lawsuit filed in Miami-Dade County, Florida, that the model “acted negligently” before Obumseli’s death. Obumseli’s family lived in Richardson, but Obumseli was living with Clenney in Miami at the time of his death.
The family also named in the lawsuit the owner of the luxury high-rise apartment where Obumseli was killed and the management company responsible for the property. In their lawsuit, the family says they are seeking compensation for trauma, loss of family support, and medical and funeral expenses.
The Miami Herald reported in August that Krenney initially told authorities she simply threw a knife at her boyfriend. But police claim the evidence suggests otherwise. Based on the angle of the knife and how deep it entered his body, police said they were able to determine that Clenney stabbed Obumseli at close range.
Krenney had previously attacked Obumseli at gunpoint “during a stormy relationship”. Prosecutor Catherine Fernandez Rendell said the two had a “violent and toxic two-year relationship,” according to the Miami Herald. Kerenney is next scheduled to appear in Miami-Dade County criminal court on May 9. She faces charges of second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.
