On Tuesday, February 14, 2023, Ezra Alvarez “Ezy” 16 years old of Derry, New Hampshire died unexpectedly at home. He was born on April 14, 2006 in Baldwin Park, California. He spent his early years in Montebello, California. Ezra and his family later moved to Utah, where he discovered his passion and love for football. Ez started playing football at the age of 8.
He has been a part of many teams including Copper Hills, Brighton High, A-Game Elite and Utah Pioneers. On those teams, he made many connections with players and coaches who influenced him on and off the field. Ez plays proudly on both sides of the ball and despite his small stature he is powerful. Ez has invested countless hours on and off the court perfecting his technique. Ez proudly attended the Utah Military Academy where he learned many leadership skills and formed lasting friendships.
He had many teachers who supported him the entire time he was there and kept in touch with them even after he moved. Just last year, the family moved to Derry, New Hampshire, and Ezra began attending Pinkerton College. Ezra proudly wears No. 6 as the defensive starter for the Pinkerton College Astros football team. In his free time, he enjoys building Star Wars LEGO bricks, playing video games, and exercising. He also enjoys playing flag football and competing in 7v7 tournaments. His extensive knowledge of sports statistics cannot be questioned. Ezy has mastered the art of teasing and no one knows it better than his sister, whom he loves to tease every day.
Ezy will be remembered as a bright, caring and kind young man. His friends say they love his laugh and sense of humor. He was always the one who cared about those around him. Those touched by him will forever miss him.
Survived by his parents, Tiffany Baker and Daniel Marshall. His sister, Jordan Alvarez; his grandmother, Sally Gutierrez; his aunt, Brenda Ramirez; his cousins, Benjamin, JW, and Thomas Ramirez his great-grandfather Raymond Gutierrez; his many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his football coach and brothers on and off the field.
