A Temple University graduate in ornamental horticulture was born in August 1943 on Long Island, New York. After graduation, the plan has always been to join the family business, Bloodgood Nurseries, which has been a Long Island wholesale nursery for generations. At fourteen, the company moved to Bucks County, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia.
However, a growing interest in cars and racing led him to give up gardening and eventually develop into a decade-long professional race car driver. Jeff’s drag racing career coincided with the development of the fun nitro cars that changed the face of the sport. After racing, Jeff stayed in the auto industry as a shop owner and dealer mechanic.
Always interested in competitive sports, Jeff started golfing at age 16 as a single-digit handicap, making a habit of shooting and occasionally breaking par in the 70’s. Across the Ocean to the Links: A Golfer’s Journey is Jeff’s first book.
