Jean Kuczka Death, Obituary: St. Louis, Missouri, student Alexzandria Bell and teacher Jean Kuczka were grieved after they were shot and killed Monday at Central High School for the Visual and Performing Arts.
Several others were injured in the shooting, which is said to have been carried out by a former student. Jean Kuczka is a popular PE teacher and cross country coach.
She is also a wife, mother of five and grandmother of seven.
She loves cycling, and every year she participates in a ride that raises funds for juvenile diabetes in memory of her son, who has the condition, according to her school biography.
Her biography says she enjoys “guiding students to make informed decisions.”
“My mom is my best friend,” her daughter Abbey Kuczka told ABC News.
“I think we’re still in shock,” she said, adding, “I think it’s comforting to hear all these stories from her students and know how loved she is.”
Alexzandria Bell, a sophomore who loves to dance, plans to start cooking school in high school, her father Andre Bell told Los Angeles-based ABC radio station KABC.
“She thought a lot about her plans, so I stood behind her,” he said.
The bright and charismatic teenager, a dance major, attended a performing arts middle school, principal Kacy Seals-Shahid told the St. Louis Post-Post.
