Jeffrey Spaide Biography
Jeffrey Spaide shot James Goy and Lisa Goy, two of his neighbors, before turning the gun on himself. Three bodies were discovered in Plains, Pennsylvania, on that snowy morning of February 1, 2021, and authorities were considering murder—listed as a suicide. The fatal incident in the tranquil town happens after a furious argument between neighbors about clearing snow.
At the time, a winter storm that disrupted travel plans and forced the closing of schools impacted several Northeastern communities, including Plains Township. In some places, the snowfall approached 30 inches. Several accidents have occurred due to the ice and slick roads.

Nevertheless, on that freezing February morning, Jeffrey Spaide, 47, met James Goy, 50, and his wife Lisa Goy, 48, who were neighbors. The fact that they were shot outside of their house is no coincidence. Spade went home after killing the couple, then committed suicide there.

Jeffrey Spaide, who was born on June 16, 1973, spent the majority of his early years in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Spaide graduated with a BS in Environmental Engineering and an MS in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from Wilkes University and Villanova University, respectively.

Spaide, a renowned veteran of the armed forces, served in the US Navy in the 1990s before transitioning to the US Army National Guard and US Naval Reserve. He also spent more than 20 years working as an engineer. Overall, he seemed to enjoy a typical existence up to his catastrophic run-in with the Goys.
Yet, The Citizens’ Voice claims that Spaide and the Goys never got along. They are known to have taken part in a number of fights.
Naturally, there have been conflicts between neighbors, some of which concerned snow removal and cleanup, according to Sam Sanguedolce, the first assistant district attorney for Luzerne County. They were standing face to face across the street when they decided to dump the snow they had cleared onto the other property.
