A woman identified as 20-year-old Johanna Schultz was found dead after police responded to a report of a shooting in Omro. She is from El Dorado, Fond du Lac County.
The sheriff’s office did not release the name of the 22-year-old man, who was arrested after a brief hiatus, and said his name would be released when he appeared in court. He is currently in custody on suspicion of reckless endangerment of security. The prosecutor’s office will decide on criminal charges.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office declined to provide additional information, saying it was “a very active and ongoing investigation.” The sheriff’s office offers its condolences to Schultz’s family and friends.

A SWAT team and a negotiating team were called to the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. After what law enforcement sources described as a brief standoff, a 22-year-old man left the home and was taken into custody.
Police found a 20-year-old woman dead at home.
The manner and circumstances of her death are still under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
Law enforcement officials did not give an exact location — but earlier today, a statement on the Omro Police Department Facebook page urged residents to avoid the area around Spruce Street.
