The Air Jordan 1 has been in high demand since it was first released in 1985. Even decades after its release, this iconic shoe remains a cult favorite. The Air Jordan 1’s popularity can be attributed to a variety of factors, including its association with basketball legend Michael Jordan, its unique design, and its status as a cultural phenomenon.
Demand for the Air Jordan 1 is as strong as ever thanks to limited availability, coveted collaborations, and a fan base that spans multiple generations and subcultures. Now, on April 20th, 2023, Nike has announced that it will be bringing back the Air Jordan 1 “Lost And Found,” which will be available on the SNKRS app starting at 11:40AM for $180 USD.
On April 12, 2023, Jordan Brand posted a poll on the SNKRS app stating “If we restocked the AJ1 “Chicago” next week, would you:” There are two options for sneakerheads to choose from.
This drop is especially significant for those who failed to get their hands on the pair last time around. Over the past few months, Nike has received countless requests from sneakerheads to re-release the AJ 1 “Lost and Found.” After many requests, the brand has finally released the pair to fans once again.
The Air Jordan 1 “Lost And Found” features a wrinkled black leather collar, indicating that the OG Jordan 1’s collar tends to crumble over time, as well as cracks in the toe box, mid-panel, and collar. The shoe comes with a mismatched box lid, a nod to the “lost and found” nature of the colorway.
The design was intended to look like the original 1985 Air Jordan 1 that was found decades later in a dusty storage room. The shoe offers a vintage look with a distressed look, cracked leather trim and a distressed white midsole, as well as a red outsole with a chalky white exterior to mimic the dust in which sneakers are stored. The “lost and found” theme is also carried over to this particular box, which looks battered and has a mismatched lid, suggesting that the shoes have been misplaced in backrooms and basements
