Lisa Michaels was always interested in the weather growing up.
She was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago, IL. Lisa attended Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and had the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua as part of a team to install a water filtration system and weather station.
She has a BA in Atmospheric Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While studying there, she spent nearly a month chasing storms, witnessing more than 20 tornadoes, hail events and other weather phenomena.
Lisa completed her broadcast meteorology internship at WCIA in Champaign and started her career as a broadcast meteorologist at WEEK in Peoria, IL. Previously, she spent five years with KFVS in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
In addition to the weather, Lisa is also interested in the outdoors and art. She has played bassoon for 10 years and enjoys painting. Her passion for water polo led her to compete in the Junior Olympics. In college, she competed in Division 3 and Club Water Polo.
Lisa will join the FOX6 Weather Team in October 2022.
