Mayilsamy is also an acclaimed stage performer, comedian, television presenter and theater performer. In short, he is an all-rounder and multi-talented figure in the Tamil television scene.

South Indian entertainment industry dead

Mayilsamy has been involved in various stage performances and dramas since she was a child, has performed with famous local comedy troupes and traveled around Tamil Nadu. Mayilsamy has also released several stand-up comedies, among which “Sirippoo Sirrippu” deserves a special mention. Mayilsamy made her debut in Tamil Television as a host and judge of the popular comedy show Asathapovathu Yaaru on Sun TV. Mayilsamy appears on the show primarily as the host and occasionally as a guest judge.

In October 2009, Mayilsamy announced that his son Arumainayagam was ready to act in a film, giving him the stage name Anbu. Anbu was originally scheduled to debut in 2011 with Rasu Madhuravan’s Parthom Pazhaginom opposite Joshna Fernando, but the film was shelved shortly after its release. Anbu later started working on a Rajasekhar-directed film called Andha 60 Naatkal, a fantasy comedy starring Chandrika in late 2015, but the film never came out.

Another canceled project in 2015 was Johnson’s Kokku, in which Anbu would star alongside Papri Ghosh. In 2017, he attempted to make his debut in Vedhamani’s Thiripuram with Brindha and Niharika and Oru Bommalattam Nadakuthu with Surabhi Tiwari and Gosha, but both films failed to make progress. In 2018, Anbu tried again, starting work on Alti starring Manisha Jith and Chidambaram Railway Gate with Neeraja, directed by MF Hussain.
