Hyderabad: Popular Odia actor Pintu Nanda breathed his last breath while undergoing treatment at Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad on Wednesday night. He is 45 years old.
Pintu Nanda suffered from liver disease for a long time. After initial treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar, he was recently transferred to the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in New Delhi for a liver transplant.
However, the actor was transferred from New Delhi to Hyderabad’s Yashoda Hospital as an organ donor could not be found. After Nanda’s passing, a sombre atmosphere hangs over the brotherhood of the Odia film industry.
Bhubaneswar: The condition of actor Pintu Nanda, who was transferred from the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in Hyderabad to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment last week, remains critical. With a photo of his hospital bed and a medical certificate, actor Sritam Das shared an update on his health, tweeting: “Pintu Nanda is not doing well. He needs everyone’s blessings. Jay Jugnauth. “
Nanda, known for her negative roles, was diagnosed with “acute-chronic liver failure” and recommended for a cadaveric liver transplant. According to the hospital administration, the operation will cost Rs 35,000,000.
The actor relocated from New Delhi to Hyderabad on February 25 due to lack of donors. Sri Tam had previously said that his family should donate his liver to Pintu, but due to various reasons such as blood type mismatch, it was not possible.
To ensure actors are treated fairly, members of the Odisha Film Artists Association held a fundraising event.
