Rathkeale violence: The Minister for Justice visited Limerick and pledged additional resources to the area. Video footage of the aftermath documented several damaged vehicles and what appeared to be a number of knives left on the road nearby.
The Minister of Justice took a stroll through the streets of Rathkeale on Tuesday evening in support of the locals who demanded more law enforcement in the area to combat the ongoing feud. Harris stated that additional garda resources would be provided to Rathkeale in order to combat feuding factions.
He vowed that those who engaged in this violence would be pursued by the state: “No part of the country is exempt from the law”
Harris had direct communication with the head of the Limerick Garda Division, Chief Superintendent Derek Smart. He reported that additional resources had already been provided to local gardai in order to help them maintain control over the escalating tensions in the town.
