It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of Ray Sawada’s sudden passing. Ray passed away on the night of April 10, 2023, at the age of 38, while playing his favorite game. He leaves behind his beloved wife Nicole, his two young and incredible daughters, Victoria, 9, and Charlotte, 6, and family and friends who are supportive, loyal and loyal.
Ray grew up and lives in Richmond. He was a hardworking firefighter in Burnaby. He joined Burnaby Fire in 2017 and has been an integral member of the department, having served with distinction and honor.
Ray is a bright light in the lives he touches. He enjoys traveling with Nicole, the girls, family and friends. He is a talented hockey player and a dedicated coach to his daughters. With Ray’s passion and drive in everything he does, a void will be left in the community around him.
For the girls and Nicole, the loss of their father and husband will leave a sad mark on their hearts, and there is still a long way to go. We sincerely thank our family for their love and support. We appreciate every message and every act of kindness. We feel love. It reassures us that so many love and care for this family at this sad and difficult time.
If you are willing to support Nicole in her grief while she is on unpaid leave, then Nicole and the girls will have a brighter future ahead. We thank you in advance and feel so blessed for the love and kindness that has been shared after his passing.
We will honor his life with joyful and loving memories and ensure his light lives on.
