Friday afternoon in N. Portland’s Cathedral Park neighborhood, a shooter is being pursued by a tactical squad, and residents are being warned to take cover.
Police and emergency personnel are responding to reports of gunfire Friday afternoon in the Cathedral Park area of North Portland.
East of Cathedral Park, close to the intersection of North Syracuse Street and Baltimore Avenue, according to Portland Police, the suspect has been apprehended.
Officials claim that the public is still currently in danger.
Officers are working to evacuate other adjacent residents while asking those who live nearby to remain put.
Furthermore called to the scene were the Crisis Negotiation Unit and the PPB Special Emergency Response Team.
From North Philadelphia Avenue to North St. Louis Avenue, according to the police, North Ivanhoe Street is closed.
