After a shooting incident at South Hill Mall in Puyallup, authorities have taken a suspect into custody.
On Tuesday morning, July 23, 2019, Jordan Poisson, a 22-year-old, allegedly made his way into the South Hill Mall, in Puyallup, via the air conditioning ducts situated on the roof of Macy’s. Following the shooting incident that took place in the mall, Jordan Poisson pleaded not guilty to several charges of a felony associated with the case.
According to investigators who viewed security footage, Poisson allegedly fired at the store entrances of American Eagle, Grail Finders Shoes, and Macy’s before grabbing multiple items from various stores. Authorities attribute a total loss of $30,000 to his actions, including $15,000 worth of stolen goods and $10,000 in damage. In court filings, police reported Poisson’s hostility towards them, including spitting and yelling.
A handgun was either discharged or aimed by Poisson, who has been charged with theft, breaking and entering, and causing malicious damage, all of which were recorded in the affidavit. Suicidal threats were reportedly made by him in both the county jail and police cruiser, as stated in the document. In August, he has another court appearance looming and his bail was set at $200,000.
