He was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, started collecting and purchasing records in 1992, and in the years that followed, he started hosting and performing at events.
In Detroit and Chicago in 1992, Terry James first heard underground music. He made the switch from metal to dance because to Richie Hawtin’s minimalist sound, which fundamentally altered his life. He spent the following few years learning how to play and host, studying masters, and collecting vinyl recordings under the strong influence of the Detroit music of the period.
He made the decision to relocate to San Diego in 2000 in order to concentrate on his mixing activities and advertising. Additionally, SoCal is promoting Detroit techno music. Juan Atkins, Frankie Burns, Woody McBride, Tim Baker, The Crystal Method, Octave One, DJ Assault, Asher Perkins, Detroit Tech Militia, Terrence Parker, K. Hand, and guests Terrence Dixon, Speedy J, John Acquaviva, and many other local SoCal superstars have directed his credits “Underground Mafia” and “Next Step.” In a world where EDM = Every Day Music, his long-term objective is to keep the underground alive while pushing his Eternal activity into its eighth year of production.
