A TikToker who documented the stabbing of a Canadian father to death in front of his daughter and fiancee at a Starbucks is facing backlash after he allegedly took selfies next to the victim’s body and smiled as he filmed the gruesome scene.

Alex Bodger filmed a sickening video of Paul Stanley Schmidt being attacked outside a Vancouver coffee shop on Sunday after begging his attacker not to vape in front of his 3-year-old daughter, the Toronto Sun reports.
According to news outlets, Bodger, who walked past Gora Pakora on TikTok, appeared to be grinning as he filmed the unfolding events.
“That mother–just died, brother. He just died, brother, my God!” he exclaimed, infuriating those who accused him of taking advantage of the horrific crime.
“This is the TikTok generation. I worry about our disgusting future,” wrote one Twitter user.

Another wrote, “I am so disgusted by his actions and words that I am speechless…no emotional period.”
But Bodger told Global News he was traumatized by the incident.
“It’s not something you think you’re going to see on the streets of Vancouver on Sunday,” Boger told the outlet. “Every time I think about this situation, I have a feeling of pure dread in my chest.”

But according to one Twitter user, Boger also took selfies next to the victim’s body and even returned to the scene the next day to smoke.
The man later posted a video in which he tried to explain his behavior, saying he tended to smile in “embarrassing situations”.
“So I was walking down the street and I thought I saw a street fight… so I started running towards it. I started the video and I saw some blood and I just thought maybe I had a bloody nose or something, ’ he said in the video.
“My brain doesn’t allow me to believe what’s happening. I know he’s dead, but at the same time, it’s the first time I’ve experienced this, right, so my brain is like, ‘He’s dead ’, so I started screaming,” Bodger said.
“The killer was standing there and all I could think was ‘Oh my god – I’m standing here screaming he’s dead…what if he comes running and kills me.’” But I just stood there in total shock, ‘ he continued.
Bodger then explained his “controversial” smile.
