The Springfield Township police officer who was killed last week in an incident while on the job will be honored today at a public memorial service. Police Officer Tim Unwin was involved in a two-vehicle collision Friday while responding to a call “officers need assistance” at North College Hill. The accident claimed the lives of Unwin and another driver, William Dunson. Few details have been released about the accident, including which car hit which.

It will continue to the Arlington Memorial Gardens in the town of Springfield.
The funeral service will follow after the procession, which is expected to arrive at the cemetery at 12.30pm. Tim Unwin, who was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Friday morning, has a memorial erected at the scene of the crash and around the police station.
Memories about Unwin will be shared by three family members and two police officers, including Police Chief Rick Bligh. Father Steve Angie, vicar of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, will lead the prayers.
