TikTok is one of the most popular apps today, and many people use the platform to share their interests and even generate income. But getting famous on TikTok is next to impossible, especially if you’re from a small town. There are too many content creators on the platform, and with TikTok’s algorithm, things like geography matter, putting people from “unknown” regions at a disadvantage. However, that hasn’t stopped Waifu Mia from making a name for itself on the app.
Waifu Mia is a 19-year-old influencer from small-town Canada who has grown her social media presence from a few hundred followers to over a million in a short period of time. She currently has 1.5 million followers on TikTok, and one of her videos has garnered 100 million views. She’s also making waves on Instagram and Twitter. But how did she get here?
“I grew up in a small town in Canada,” says Waifu Mia, “and I was successful academically and becoming a nurse.” In other words, an average kid. But then she decided to try something new.
While she loves school, Waifu Mia loves content creation even more, and after graduating high school, she decided to try content creation and shared her first video on TikTok. Sharing hilarious face pulling videos or humorous ones dancing trendy dances helped Mia increase her presence and become an e-girl, attracting the attention of well-known social media stars.
Waifu Mia caught the attention of famous influencer Belle Delphine. Belle wrote to Mia that she liked her aesthetic and that Mia reminded her a lot of a “young Belle”. This is an important moment for Waifu Mia and a great achievement in her career as Belle is someone she has always looked up to.
“Belle Delphine is my idol, she browses my content and even texts me, something I never thought would happen. Your endorsement makes me want to be a better influencer and keep performing. I My dream is to work with her one day,” Waifu Mia said.
Mia also wants to start her real estate business and expand her portfolio, while inspiring and motivating other content creators, especially in her city. “Most people are always trying to tell you why you can never do it, why what you do is not working for you, and you should give up,” Waifu Mia said.
When Mia started creating content, many people tried to discourage her. She is often told to “stop trying to be an influencer because you’ll never make it”. It took a huge toll on her mental health and she fell into a deep depression from believing in all the hate and negativity. But after thinking about it, Mia decided not to let anyone stop her from doing what she loves.
Mia removes negative people from her life and focuses on her dream of becoming the biggest e-girl influencer. Today, that dream has almost become a reality. Mia’s video has been viewed more than 250 million times and liked 12.2 million times on TikTok. Waifu Mia also recently reached 1 million followers and 400,000 followers on Instagram and Twitter.
